How long do lovebirds live?

Lovebirds live 10–15 years with good care. That makes a lovebird a long-term commitment, so plan for who will look after your bird for its whole life.

Are lovebirds good for beginners?

Yes. Lovebirds are one of the easier parrots to start with, especially hand-raised ones that are already tame. Small but full of personality. Pairs keep each other company; hand-raised singles bond with you.

Rarely. Lovebirds chirp and chatter all day, but they seldom learn to say words.

Moderately. Lovebirds call and chatter through the day, but they're quieter than conures or cockatoos.

What they eat
